About Elephant Education Initiative

You can call us ELEI, Pronounced “Ellie”

Elephant Education Initiative is a 501c3, our mission is to mitigate human-elephant conflict through impactful education initiatives in Africa and Asia, leveraging sustainable tourism as a catalyst for positive change. We strive to empower local communities with sustainable practices through education to ensure a future for both humans and elephants.

our Impact

Elephant Education Initiative provides full scholarships to Maasai youth pursuing higher education degrees in fields such as conservation, international tourism, environmental sciences, environmental law, or ranger training. Since 2019, we have awarded five full scholarships to both male and female Maasai students. As we expand to other countries, the reach of our scholarships to indigenous communities impacted by human-elephant conflict will continue to expand.

“I believe my place in elephant conservation is to serve in the area of education. Education can allow a young person or an entire family means to a better job, which offers better stability and financial security. By offering sustainable tourism trips can bring education to individuals in the USA, a more comprehensive way of seeing the world differently. Travel is one of the best forms of education.”
